In 2005-6 the artist travelled to Thailand, Viet Nam, Australia, Tahiti and Easter Island. Many of the following paintings are from notes made on that trip. In particular, Australian aboriginal paintings and petroglyphs seen around Uluru (Ayres Rock).

Gauguin's Tahiti and lonely Easter Island offer extreme visual contrasts from amongst the South Pacific Islands.
